So what do you think it's one of my first desktop background. I also think I might have overdone with overlays...

Yeah, the overlays are overdone a bit First of all, it desperately needs a light source just above his head

Overall I do like it though, the bit around his leg is real nice. It's just a bit too dark

I really like the effect around his right arm and leg, not too keen on the effect on his left arm though, The smoke in the background works well however like said above its a little to dark, try adding some lighting to his face and also maybe a gradient map.

Ah right, well experiment with them, gradient maps can greatly improve pieces, also try mixing 2 together.
